As our reserving actuary, you will join a small but dynamic team, working closely with the Finance Team that manages Accounting, Controlling, Risk Management, and Financial Reporting & Planning for Europæiske ERV’s activities in Denmark and Sweden. You will report directly to the Head of the Actuarial Department and collaborate with passionate and experienced colleagues. Your role will also involve close interaction with and participation in international projects, such as those with the Central Reserving Team at ERGO, the owner of Europæiske ERV.
The Role
As part of the Actuarial Department, which includes the Actuarial Function and the Reserving Team, you will work within a larger expert network. You will receive overall models and standards from ERGO, which you will adapt to local market needs and trends. In addition to project work and recurring tasks, you will be an active driver in ensuring IFRS17 reporting. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and further developing our reserving models.
- Supporting and cooperating with our Underwriting Department.
- Supporting the Finance Department in participating in regular SII, IFRS17, and local GAAP calculations and reporting, e.g., Risk Margin calculations.
- Collecting and structuring requested material for interim/annual external audits and ad hoc internal audits.
- Regular run-off reporting.
The Profile
We are looking for a dedicated and independent actuary who thrives in a balance between detailed analysis and interaction with others. You should be motivated by supporting others and sharing and receiving professional input. Effective communication to both technical and non-technical audiences is crucial. You should approach tasks with critical analytical skills and be open to opportunities and new perspectives. We are looking for a versatile individual who is still curious about personal and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Master of Science in Actuarial Mathematics or similar degree.
- Experience:
- Calculation of insurance technical reserves, preferably in non-life insurance.
- Accounting principles according to DK/SWE GAAP and IFRS17.
- Working with ResQ or other reserving tools.
- Skills:
- Effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
